Would hackers really target my business?

When most people think of data breaches, they get an image of a hacker in a hoody targeting a huge corporation or government entity. Unfortunately, that's not really the way most data breaches work. Data breaches are often crimes of opportunity. Many hackers simply have software and computers that do the work for them. This software tests company websites and networks to see if they have any blatant security holes. If so, the software attacks. Like anyone else, hackers use software to make their job easier. Unfortunately, that means that any business (big or small) can be targeted.
