The need for professional liability insurance has never been higher for tech companies, which are constantly involved in patent infringement lawsuits, with one of the latest suits being between ViaSat and Space Systems/Loral and Loral Space & Communications.
ViaSat recently alleged SS/L committed patent infringement related to wireless networking and other technology, including technology used in its 100+ Gbps ViaSat-1 satellite.

"We believe our complaint clearly establishes our position regarding ownership of the underlying intellectual property as well as SS/L's infringement of our patents and its breach of contract."
ViaSat's technology recently earned an accolade from the Society of Satellite Professionals International, which awarded the company with Industry Innovators Awards on Eutelsat Communications.
